LONDON CHILD NEUROLOGY
Information for Parents

Practical information to help you prepare for appointments and look after your child between them.
Preparing for an appointment
- Write down the main questions you would like answered.
- Bring previous letters, results and a list of medicines.
- Record videos of any episodes or unusual movements.
- Keep a simple diary of symptoms, sleep and possible triggers for a few weeks beforehand.
- School reports or comments from teachers can be useful too.
Talking to your child
Explain in simple words that the doctor will ask questions, look at how they move and play, and help find out what is going on. Most children are reassured to know that nothing painful happens in a consultation.
